Joomla Reaction Buttons - Documentation & User Guide

Joomla Reaction Buttons is a Joomla Core Content Plugin designed to measure the reactions of your visitors by displaying Reaction Buttons below or above the Joomla Core Content ( articles ). Below you will find general information and frequently asked questions. These will make it easier for you to use the extension. You can download the extension immediately after purchase. During your subscription period, after logging in with your username and password, you can download the latest version of extension via the download board.

You will download UnzipFirst_ReactionButtonsPremium.zip package. This is not installation package.

You must Unzip UnzipFirst_ReactionButtonsPremium.zip package.

This package has 2 plugins and a component.

When you unzip the package you will 3 files : 

  1. plg_content_reactionbuttonspremium - Content Plugin for Joomla Articles
  2. plg_k2_reactionbuttonspremiumk2 - Content Plugin for K2 Items
  3. com_reactionbuttonspremium - Component to view reactions for each content and item

You can install extensions via Joomla Installer at Joomla Administrator area.

Installer can be found at administrator/index.php?option=com_installer

After successful installation you will get a success message.

Important Note : If you do not install the component Plugins will not work

All extension parameters are well-explained. All you need to do is rolling your mouse over the parameter title. An info window will show the parameter title and the short description about parameter.

Sometimes, when it is necessary, we add notes before the parameter to make it more clear for users.

After successfull installation go to Plugin Manager. Plugin Manager can be found at administrator/index.php?option=com_plugins&view=plugins

Search for Reaction Buttons Premium

Click on to the title of the plugin. Change plugin status to Enabled and then Save.

Now plugin will show at the bottom of every content.

You can change buttons position to before content or to after content at Basic Settings tab via Buttons Position parameter.

Plugin has 2 different icon set as default. Animated GIF and Static PNG.

These icons can be found at plugins/content/reactionbuttonspremium/assets/images/reactions folder.

If you want to change icons, you can change from this folders.

Please note : You must not rename the icons.

Before the reaction buttons you can show a message or hide it.

If your site visitor made a reaction, Reactions title tells your site visitor which date they reacted to the content.

You can exclude the content categories you do not want to show the reaction buttons.

You can do that at Content Settings tab via Excluded Categories parameter.

You can select more than one categories. 

You can exclude any content ( article ) you do not want to show the reaction buttons.

You can do that at Content Settings tab via Excluded Articles parameter.

You can select more than one article.
